Shannon "Keith" Cooksey, age 40, of Marion, NC, died Monday, January 16, 2023, at Mission Hospital McDowell after a brief illness.

Keith was born October 15, 1982 and he was a native of Rutherford County. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Cooksey.

Keith is survived by his mother, Jackie Lail, two sisters, Jennifer McAbee, Cara Robinette (Andrew), one brother, Matthew Kimball (Patience), one aunt, Sharon Melton (Michael), one nephew, one niece, and many cousins.

There will be a private family only service at a later date.  In lieu of flowers make memorials to Pilgrims Way Baptist Church; P.O. Box 401, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
