Shirley Gail Bradley, age 71, of Forest City, North Carolina, passed away on June 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 22, 1953, and left a lasting legacy of kindness, love, and dedication.

Shirley was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked diligently at the Absorba plant and later at Verizon, always committed to her work and her family. A proud graduate of R.S. Central High School, she was known for her warm spirit and her love of life.

She adored her two grandsons, Daniel and Derek Cole of Martinsburg, West Virginia, who brought immense joy to her heart. Shirley also loved cats and found comfort in their companionship.

A faithful member of Piney Knob Baptist Church, Shirley's faith was a guiding light in her life. She was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Stephen Brad Cole, and his wife Holly of Martinsburg, WV, as well as her son, Jerry Lucas Cole, who preceded her in death. She leaves behind cherished memories with many nieces and nephews, as well as her brothers Dean and Renita Atchley and Donald and Robin Atchley.

Shirley's gentle soul and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family and friends remember her as a kind, caring woman whose presence made life brighter.

A memorial service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at 2:00pm at Piney Knob Baptist Church with Reverend Casey Stockton officiating.  Visitation will follow the service.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Piney Knob Baptist Church; 1534 Piney Knob Road; Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or a charity of your choice in her memory.   McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
