Teresa
"Lynn" Smith Hensley
Oct 10, 1947 — Aug 17, 2026
Mill Spring
Teresa “Lynn” Smith Hensley departed her earthly home Monday August 17, 2026, with dignity and grace at the Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, SC.
Lynn was reunited with family, and friends, including her grandson, Joshua Hensley who all preceded her in death.
Lynn attended the Church of the Nazarene and served as a living testament of the love found in 1st Corinthians 13:4-7. She will be remembered for her profound love, kindness and selfless generosity. Lynn found joy in caring for others. Her love knew no bounds, reaching family, friends, strangers and animals alike. She truly made the world a better place, demonstrating the need for all of us to be kind to one another as we never know what someone else may be going through or facing.
Lynn will be dearly missed by her husband of 64 years, Lendon Scott Hensley, son, Stanley Hensley, daughter, Angela Hensley, son, Terry Hensley (Susan). Grandsons, Scott Hensley and River Ezell (Madison), granddaughter, Ashley Hensley Melton (Tim), great granddaughter, Emily Melton, sisters, Sherry Smith Pave and Judy Smith Edwards, and other surviving family and friends.
In honor of our mother’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. We ask that you please privately celebrate her memory in your own special ways, knowing that she lives in us all in spirit and heart. We thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Lynn to Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue, 380 US-221 Rutherfordton, NC 28139, or an animal rescue of your choosing.
“We love you momma, and it is going to be okay. I will meet you in the lavender fields near the rainbow bridge.”
McMahan’s Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of cremation arrangements.
