Troy Jacob Howell, age 33, of Forest City, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Troy was a native of Palm Beach, FL, and was the son of Melinda Dempsey and the late John Cuff. Troy was an entrepreneur; he had started his own company the Howell Hauling and Moving Company. He also worked at the Walmart distribution center. Troy was a ray of light for so many, everyone he met loved him. He was an amazing son, husband, and father, he was a very family-oriented man. Troy had a great soul, and he cared deeply for his family and friends that became family to him. Troy will be missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his mother, Melinda Dempsey and her husband Joseph, Troy is also survived by his wife of six years, Caitlin Howell, and their children, Wolf Shane Howell, and Belle Cheri Howell, his sister, Tabitha Renee Trudel, his aunt whom was his second mama, Michelle McKnight, aunt, Mindy Cuff, uncles, Jerry Howell, Blake McKnight, and Jesse Cuff, his paternal grandparents, Sue and John Cuff III, and his cousins, Chase H. McKnight, Heather McKnight, and Sandie McKnight.

The family will be conducting a celebration of life to honor Troy's life at a later date. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory.
