Virginia “Ginger” Guice Freeman, of Bat Cave, was made new and whole in Heaven on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was born on October 30, 1956, to William and June Guice, in Hendersonville, NC. During the summer of 1973 she met and married the love of her life, Plenny “Lenny” Jay Freeman III. Together they had two children, four granddaughters, and one great grandson.

Ginger’s faith was always a constant in her life. She was a member of Middle Fork Baptist Church and enjoyed music and good singing. She loved to do crafts, read, and watch old tv shows. She was quick-witted and always loved a good joke. Her lifelong best friend, Ella Blackwell Garrett was waiting for her in Heaven, and she looked forward to the day they would see each other again.

Ginger is survived by her husband, Lenny Freeman, children, Plenny Jay Freeman IV and wife Missy Freeman, Heather Freeman McDaniel and husband Johnny McDaniel, granddaughters, Megan McDaniel Hensley and husband Adam Hensley, Alexus Freeman, Allison Freeman, Morgyn McDaniel, great grandson Levi Hensley, brother David Guice, sisters Becky Huntley and Melanie Sterling, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Fair Haven Home, Bostic, NC for the care and compassion they showed to Ginger during her time there.

A funeral will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at McMahan’s Funeral Home Chapel, in Rutherfordton, NC, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Jim Hyler and Dan McKeithan officiating. Burial will follow at the Hill Family Cemetery on Possum Hollow Rd, Bat Cave, NC. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
