Wayne Westbrook "The Old Farmer", age 91, of the Green Creek Community, NC, went to his Heavenly home Sunday, January 5, 2025.

A native of Polk County, Wayne was the son of the late Loyd Edwin Westbrook and the late Averee Davis Westbrook. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Jean McCain Westbrook, his brother, Lyle Edward Westbrook (Linda), and his sister, Joan Westbrook Walker (Charles).

Wayne is survived by his children, Myra Westbrook Horonzy and her husband Thomas, Wayne Dee Westbrook and his wife Susan, and Amy Adelia Wilmoth and her husband Scott, five grandchildren, Alicia, Mariah, David, Ashlyn, and Reeves.

Wayne was a Korean War Veteran and often said that while his life as a farmer was hard, the Good Lord always provided, and he wouldn't change anything.

The family will receive friends from 3 PM to 4 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 4 PM in the chapel, with Reverand Gary Curtis officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Interment will be private at the Westbrook Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Wayne Westbrook may be made to your local VFW or local American Legion Post. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
