William Gary Bridges, age 61, of Forest City, NC, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Spartanburg Medical Center in SC.

He was the son of the late Bill Bridges and the late Rosie Morrow Bridges and was a native of Rutherford County. Gary worked as a carpenter for many years, and he also worked for the family business, Bridges Used Cars. He was an outdoorsman in his younger days. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Gary was a loving brother, father, and grandfather. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Franklin Bridges.

Gary is survived by one son, William Matthew Bridges (Lindsey), one sister, Vicki Bridges Shehan (Tony), two brothers, Jeff Bridges (Crystal), and Richard Bridges, and two grandchildren, Madeline Elizabeth Bridges, and William Maximus Bridges.

The graveside service will be at Alexander Mills Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 12, 2022 with Reverend Paul Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. McMahan's Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements.
