William "Will" Franklin Ownbey, age 79, of Shingle Hollow, died Monday, July 29, 2019 at his home.

He was the son of the late Ray Ownbey and was a native of Rutherford County. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by three brothers; Dennis Ownbey, Tommy Ownbey and Donald Ownbey.

Survivors include his wife: Regaina Crain Ownbey

His mother: Mary Sue Ownbey

One Son: Shane Ownbey and his wife Pam

One Brother: Jimmy Ownbey and his wife Brenda

Two Sisters: Minnie Ownbey Wallace and her husband Bill Kay Ownbey Brooks and friend Cary Appling

Two sister-in-laws: Diane Ownbey Gale Wadford

Two granddaughters: Ashley Ownbey and Shana Ownbey

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church.  The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Jack Crain and Reverend Sammy Crain officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church Future Life Center 2466 Cove Rd Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
