Rev. William Wesley Hudgins, age 87, of Rutherfordton, NC, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Zeb and Lula Hudgins, and he was a native of Rutherford County. Wesley was a member of Gilkey Church of God. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents Wesley was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Gosnell, daughter-in-law, Cora Lee Hudgins, two sisters, Lucy Hodge, and Cleo Hudgins, and three brothers, Ernest Hudgins, Hubert Hudgins, and Roger Hudgins.

Wesley is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lena Mae Hudgins,  five sons, William Ronnie Hudgins and his wife Jennie, Benny Joel Hudgins, William Terry Hudgins and his wife Christie, Gary Dale Hudgins and his wife Tracy, and William Wesley Hudgins, one daughter, Debbie Marie Lowery, one sister, Betty Wilson, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-grandkids that Wesley and Lena raised, Tyler Colt Morrow, Eric Dean Morrow, and Taylor Keith Lowery, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 2:00PM to 3:00PM Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. The funeral service will be at 3:00PM Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Chad Sisk, Reverend Leon Brown, and Reverend Henry Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church; 301 Deviney St. Spindale, NC 28160.
