William "Bub" Parton, age 76, of Gilkey, NC, died Friday, October 4, 2013, at his home. He was a member of Little White Country Church. He was son of the late Jess and Alma Parton and native of Rutherford County. He was a U S Army veteran of the Korean War. Bub was the President and CEO Gilkey Lumber Company Inc. He was a past member of Gilkey Ruritan Club. He was a member of the Tar Heel Beagle Club. Bub was preceded in death by a son Christopher Parton and a brother Charles Parton. He is survived by his wife; Mildred Ashe Parton. Two Sons: Tim Parton and his wife Melanie. Scott Parton and his wife Nadja. Four Sisters: Lois Hayes and her husband Merrick. Joanne Norville and her husband the late Ray Norville. Gail Thompson and her husband Robert. Lynn Raichle and her husband Ken. One Brother: Mike Parton and his wife Gail. Four Grandchildren: Will and Savannah Parton. Matthew and Kaleb Parton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2013 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at Little White Country Church at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 with Rev. Paul Lane, Rev. Ad Hopper and Rev. Tye Sorrow officiating. Interment will be at Little White Country Church.
