William D. Upton, Sr., age 77, of Forest City, NC, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Russell Upton and the late Estelle Greene Upton, and he was a native of Rutherford County.

William was a carpenter by trade for many years, and he was an Air Force Veteran. He was known as "DeanPa", and he will be greatly missed by his loved ones. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by one brother, Dan Russell Upton.

William is survived by, one daughter, Lisa Michelle Burgin, and her husband Stephen, two sons, William Dean Upton, Jr., and his wife Sherry, and Scott Michael Upton, one brother, James David Upton and his wife Betty Lou, ex-wife, Patricia Anne Womble Upton, and five grandchildren, Stephen, Emily, Alex, Nicholas, and Journey.
