On February 20, 2020 while at home, Mrs. Addie Lee Wilson Lynch finally took “that trip” she has been waiting to take and is now in the presence of her Lord. She joins her husband Abraham Lincoln Lynch who proceeded her in death in 2000. Born December 18, 1918, Mrs. Lynch was a life-long native of Polk County. She was the daughter of the late Posey and Leona Wilson. She was a 1935 graduate of Sunny View School and was a leading member of the championship girls’ basketball team. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by a brother, John R. Wilson and a sister, Bessie Wilson. Mrs. Lynch was an active member of Coopers Gap Baptist church as a Christian, prayer warrior, teacher, singer, and administrator. When she felt she could not attend church because of her hearing difficulty, she prayed for, supported and kept up with what was happening at church.
Addie Lee loved to have family and friends visit her. Up to the time of her illness she was an avid reader, a die-hard N. C. Tar Heel basketball fan and watched every game (she knew all the players by name), she could do a Wordfind puzzle faster than folks younger than her. Her favorite time was sitting under the carport and watching all of her God’s creation.
