Betty Huss Mote

Betty Huss Mote, age 85, of Union Mills, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Fair Haven Home in Bostic.

A native of Kings Mountain, NC, Betty was the daughter of the late Franklin "Love" Vance Huss Sr. and the late Addie Huss. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, and she was a cook at Colonial Manor rest home for 23 years. Betty was a loving mother, and grandmother, everyone that loved and knew her, called her "Maw Maw Mote". She loved being outdoors tending to her garden and chickens, and she loved canning things. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Anderson Mote, Sr., her siblings, Pauline, Vance, Margaret, and Ruth, one daughter, Vera Mae Mote Prichard, one grandchild, Eugene Pritchard, and her beloved dog, Sam.

Betty is survived by her four daughters, Nancy Hill (Steve), Pattie Head (Gene), Barbara Craig (Michael), and Janet Rosey Hancock (Walter), her son, Edward Anderson Mote, Jr. (Tina), sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Friday, June 2, 2023, at Camp Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Camp Creek Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Friday, June 2, 2023, with Reverend Tony McCraw and Reverend Paul White officiating. Memorials may be made to Fair Haven Home Bostic, Activity Fund. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
