Billy L. Ford, age 88, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Hospice House of Rutherford County. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Noah Echoles Ford and the late Mary Moffitt Ford. He attended First Wesleyan Church of Forest City. Billy was a former Fire Chief with the Rutherfordton Fire Department and owned his own wrecker service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles, Joe and Noah Ford Jr. and three sisters; Frances Wigmore, Helen Hodge and Lucy Bradley. He is survived by his wife: Doris Doggett Ford. One Daughter: Billie Ford Dixon of Rutherfordton One Son: Dean Ford and wife Brenda of Rutherfordton One Sister: Sarah Dixon of Gastonia, NC Six Grandchildren: Jeff Faulkner and wife Rebecca, Jeanna Ford Read and husband Pat, Chris Dixon, Robbie Dixon, Randy Dixon and Sammie Dixon. Six Great-Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, February 26, 2016 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at First Wesleyan Church of Forest City at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 27, 2016 with Rev. Eric Yelton officiating. Interment will be at Rutherfordton City Cemetery.
