Bobby Jay Lynch, age 79, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.
He was the son of the late Robert (Bob) Lynch and the late Anabel Sarah Frady Lynch.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a older brother Hugh Marshall Lynch.
Bobby Jay was a native of Rutherford county. He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He loved gardening, farming and canning. Bobby was an avid farmer and specialized in beets and tomatoes. He was infamous for his pickled beets and chow chow. He really enjoyed going to auctions. Bobby Jay was a graduate of RS Central High School the Class of 1958. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Brenda J. Lynch.

One Son:
Jeffery (Jeff) Lynch and his wife Jackie of Danville, VA
A special "Adopted" daughter Dale Ruff.
Six Grandsons; Ben, Joe, Camron, Todd, Patrick and Mark
Six Granddaughters; Baylee, Destiny, Naomie, Alexandra, April and Sherry.
Eight Great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 22, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 PM at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 3:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kelly Luckadoo and Reverend James Henson officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Phillip Ashley officiating,
