Charles "Mack" Logan, age 82, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.
Mack was born in Lincolnton, NC to the late John Charles Logan, and the late Dorothy Kuck. He was a long-time member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Mack was an avid hunter and competitive shooter. He participated in the 1984 Summer Shooting Olympics, and he was a part of various shooting clubs throughout North and South Carolina, where he won many competitions. Mack was also a member at Piedmont Rifle and Pistol Club, and Walnut Grove Shooting Club in Bostic. Mack was an active participant of Sons of the Confederate Veterans organization.
Mack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann P. Logan, one daughter, Anna Lane (Grayling), one son, Charles Mack Logan Jr. (Gail), four grandchildren, TJ, April, Shanna, and Phillip, and fourteen great grandchildren, Haley, John, Alyssa, Kristopher, Emily, Markee, Khloe, Bryson, Jayda, Emma, Zack, Noah, Gracie, and Hannah.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at the church at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 14, 2023, with Reverend Dr. Scott Courtney and Reverend Richard Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2676 Hudlow Rd. Forest City, NC 28043. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
