Douglas W. Flack

Douglas W. Flack, age 77, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020,   

He was the son of the late I. K. Flack and the late Mavel Murray Flack and he was a native of Rutherford County. Doug was a member of Thermal City United Methodist Church.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Doug was retired from the Air Force after serving for 22 years. He was the recipient of the Meritorious Honor Award. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Flack, and 3 sisters, Jackie Lawson, Sandra Lee Prince, and Grace Epley. 

He is survived by his loving wife: Lorrine Hill Flack.

Susan Elaine Canupp, Monroe, NC

One Son: 
James Douglas Flack, Monroe, NC

One Brother: 
Ike K. Flack III, Kannapolis, NC

And five grandchildren

Doug  will  lie-in-state from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Sunday, January 3, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home for anyone to pay their respects and sign the guest register. The graveside service will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 4, 2021 with Reverend Jack Bridges officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Thermal City Methodist Church c/o Rachel Dowdle; 280 Crutchfield Rd.; Union Mills,  NC 28167 or the Rutherford County Honor Guard; 564 Terry Road; Ellenboro, NC 28040. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
