Dr. Richard T. Davis, age 83, of Durham, NC, died Sunday, June 26, 2016. Dr. Davis was born in Rutherford County on April 5, 1933 to the late J. Gomer Davis and the late Sarah Ellerbe Davis of Spindale. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Barbara Geer Davis and two sisters; Beth Carpenter and Sarah Helms. Dr. Davis is survived by: Two Daughters: Nancy Davis and husband Tip Nicholson of Statesville, NC Peggy Gold of Durham, NC One Son: Richard T. Davis, Jr. of Gibsonville, NC One Brother: Joseph G. Davis Jr. and wife Betty of Rockingham Five Grandchildren Six Great-Grandchildren A graveside service will be at Rutherfordton City Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2016.
