Ernestine S. Beheler

Ernestine S. Beheler, age 102, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021, 
Ernestine was  the daughter of the late Caldwell Belton Smith and the late Bessie Ridings Smith and a native of Polk County.  She was the widow of the late Landrum Beheler.  She was a life long and oldest member of New Hope United Methodist Church.  She loved making quilts.  Ernestine was also preceded in death by her brothers; Whitfield Smith and Lionell Smith; her sisters, Josephine Liles and Arlene Thompson; a great granddaughter,  Lindsay Cooper.

She is survived by;

Two Sons: 
Hayward Smith and his wife Kathie.
Gary Beheler.

Four Grandchildren:  Lisa Cooper, Amy Smith, Lauren Beheler and Luke Beheler

Five Great-Grandchildren: Amanda Jarrell, Adam Cooper, Justin Smith, Riley Smith, Nathan Smith.  

Seven Great-Great-Grandchildren: Brook Jarrell, Cooper Jarrell, Mason Jarrell, Kendrick Beach, Duncan Jarrell, Marlee Jarrell, Cade Cooper

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2021 with Reverend Carroll Flack and Reverend Cy Miller officiating.  Interment will be at New Hope United Methodist Church  Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P O Box 336; Forest City, NC 28043.  The family will be at the home of Lisa Cooper.  The wearing of a mask and social distancing is required to attend the service.   McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
