Obituary

Ethel Mae Owens, age 90, of Forest City, NC, died Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Hospice House of Rutherford County. She was the daughter of the late Badger Bryant Epley and the late Lula Mae Haynes Epley and a native of Rutherford County. Ethel was the widow of the late Johnny Agustus Owens. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. She is survived by Two Sons: Hicks Owens and his wife Teresa Donald Owens and his wife Shannon Four Sisters: Betty Hudgins Joyce Toney Louise Cuthbertson Marie Davis One Brother: Vernon Epley Four Grandchildren: Kevin Owens, Melanie Hunt, Scott Owens and Kim King. Six Great-Grandchildren Four Step Grandchildren, Four Step-Great Grandchildren and Two Step Great-Great-Grandchildren The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church prior to the service. The Funeral service will be at Mount Vernon Baptist Church at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 with Reverend Dr. Scott Courtney officiating. Interment will be at Mount Vernon Baptist Cemetery.
