Flonnie (Dills) Jolley

Flonnie Mae Dills Jolley, 87, went to be with Jesus on March 10th, 2023.  She will be missed by her family and friends, but they will cherish wonderful memories of her as a mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend.  She enjoyed her classmates from the Harris High School class of 1954 where she played basketball. She loved all the people she worshiped with through the years at Gray’s Creek, First Broad, and Cedar Grove. Her 29 years of working at Rutherford Hospital were some of her happiest! Her family loved her pies and biscuits. Most of all, she leaves behind a legacy of serving her Heavenly Father.

Flonnie was married to Gene Jolley for 31 years before she lost him to cancer in 1987. Her parents, Tollie and Elizabeth Frady Dills, made sure their children learned to work hard.  She is preceded in death by 15 siblings.  She is survived by her daughter, Donna Jolley Petty (Albert) of Bostic,  and her son, Mitchell Jolley (Suzanne) of Spartanburg, SC. Her grandchildren are Sarah Petty Crank (Marcus), and Richard Petty, all of Bostic.  She loved her only great-grandchild, Emeri Crank.

A celebration of Flonnie’s life will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at McMahan’s Funeral Home Chapel in Rutherfordton at 3:00PM.  Visitation will be from 2:00PM-3:00PM at McMahan’s.  Rev. Steve Chastain and Rev. Gus Navarro will officiate.  Interment will follow in the cemetery at Gray’s Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Grove Church, PO Box 278 Bostic, NC 28018.   McMahan’s Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
