Frances Arrowood Brigman Shehan

Frances Arrowood Brigman Shehan, age 78, of Forest City, NC, went to be with the Lord  Saturday, February 25, 2023, at her home.

Frances was born September 14, 1944, to the late Dora P. Arrowood, and Albert Arrowood, in Rutherford County, North Carolina. She worked in sewing companies, Stonecutter, and Broyhill Furniture. In her later years she was employed by White Oak Manor of Rutherfordton, NC as the Activity Assist for 10 years.  In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by, her stepmom, Mary Arrowood, two sisters, Helen Joann Bailey, and Ruby Jean Hill, four brothers, W.J. Arrowood, Albert Arrowood Jr., Glenn Arrowood, and Lenoard Arrowood, by her first husband, Eugene Brigman, and her second husband, William Julian Shehan. 

She is survived by two children, her daughter, Sue Brigman Spurlin (Tim) of Forest City, her son, Jeffrey Eugene Brigman (Sharon) of Rutherfordton, a stepdaughter, Kaye Shehan Yaffey (John) of Cramerton, NC, and step-son, William Lee Shehan (Wanda) of Seneca, SC, one sister, Colene Nanney of Union Mills, one brother, Roger Arrowood (Susan) of Shelby, six grandchildren, Adam Brigman (Katie), Eric Brigman, Dale Shehan (Jody), David Yaffey, Leah Emory (Todd), and Eva Yaffey, two great-grandchildren, Leighton Shehan, and Kaytlen Emory, and special friend, Mike Yaffey (Nancy), and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Holly Springs Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, February 28, 2023, with Reverend Scott Moneyham and Preacher Eric Brigman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to WWOL Radio, 1381 West Main St. Forest City, NC 28043. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
