Helen R Lewis

Helen R Lewis passed away of a sudden illness November 9th at Hospice of Rutherford County. 

She was the daughter of the late Pete and Rose Yosek. Helen was a native of Detroit, Michigan. She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. 

She departed surrounded by a small group of family and supportive friends. We all will miss that twinkle in her blues eyes and her red hair. She loved her music and yodeled and sang with her daughter on guitar and son on harmonica at parties at her home in Forest City. She retired from General Motors Corp. in the late 80’s and moved to NC to live closer to her son and family.  Sharp witted and so full of energy we were blessed to have this lady of the ‘’Great Generation’’ around for 97 years and served as an inspiration to many.  A celebration of life will be in the spring. She is survived by son Fred L Mead Jr. (Ruth Ann) and Daughter Cheryl E Roth (Sher Mc Cann). She also had 5 Grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
