Hessie Lawter Tipton

Hessie Lawter Tipton, age 70, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at her home. 

She was the daughter of the late William Lawter and Emma Hicks and she was a native of Rutherford County. Hessie was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her loving husband: Wade Tipton.

Lexon, Trey, Corben, and Delanor Knight

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 30, 2020 at McMahan's Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 31, 2020 with Reverend Tom Runyon officiating. Hessie will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. An online guest register is available at www.mcmahansfuneralhome.com.
