Hugh Anthony, age 79, of Rutherfordton, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Pinkney Ray Anthony and the late Ollie Mae Black Anthony. Hugh was a member of Oak Springs Baptist Church, retired form Reeves Brothers and worked in home construction for many years. He loved gardening, flowers and going to the flea market. Hugh was the widower to the late Mary Ann Briscoe Anthony and was preceded in death by his brother Glen Anthony and his sister Shirley Anthony Pendelton. Hugh was a U S Army veteran. He is survived by: Three Daughters: Gina Owens and husband Steve. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2016 with Reverend Michael Snelgrove and Reverend Mike Deese officiating.
