Jack Ervin, 88, of Forest City, NC, died Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late William Bryan and Minnie Cole Ervin. Jack was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, was a US Army Veteran of WWII and had retired from Tanner Companies. Jack also did farming and beekeeping. He was preceded in death by a brother James Ervin and two sisters Myrtle Hopper and Mary Bouldin. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Evelyn Searcy Ervin. One Daughter: Avis Lynn Ervin, Mooresville, NC Two Sons: Charles Lewis Ervin, Forest City, NC Alan Jack Ervin, Forest City, NC Two Grandsons Christopher Ervin Kevin Ervin and wife Ginger of Forest City One step great grandson Jalen Wood Also survived by several nieces and nephews The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2012 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM with Rev. Rick Wall, Rev. Clifford Bradshaw and Steve Hopper officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
