Jennifer (Ruff) Richard

Jennifer Ruff Richard, age 84, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, November 10, 2023, at Hilltop Health & Rehabilitation.  She was the daughter of the late Reverend Wade Ruff and the late Carrie Ruff and a native of Rutherford County.  Jennifer completed her undergraduate  education at  Mars Hill University and obtained a Master’s in Education from Appalachian State University.  She was an educator in the Rutherford County School System for over 30 years.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Steve Ruff, Jerry Ruff, and Tim Ruff.

She is survived by her loving family,  two sons, Drew Richard of Mooresville, NC and, Chad Richard (Renee) of  Simpsonville, SC, one sister, Brenda Ruff Terry (Jake), one brother, Phil Ruff, and four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Richard, Coleman Richard, Nicholas Richard, and Hannah Richard.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2023, in the church family life center. The Funeral service will be at Second Baptist Church of Rutherfordton at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2023, with Reverend Dr.  Keith Stephenson, Reverend Brandon Wood, and Reverend Chad Dillard officiating. Interment will be at Rutherfordton City Cemetery. The family would like to thank  Brookdale Senior Living, Hilltop Health and Rehabilitation, and to Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, for the good care given to Jennifer while she was a patient with them.
