Jerry L. Reid

Jerry Lee Reid, age 78, of Forest City, NC, died suddenly  Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at his residence.  He was the son of the late Oscar and Dorothy Brown Reid and a native of Burke County.  He was an active member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church and was faithful to the Lord and his church.  Jerry loved  golf and was a member of GCSAA Golf Association.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Brenda Baker Reid and his siblings Winfred Reid, Haskell Reid, Sandra Jean Reid and Louise H. Holland.

He is  survived by his loving wife: Janet S.  Reid. 
One Son: 
Byron Reid and his wife Briana of  Rutherfordton.  Three step-daughters: Kay Wray and her husband Kevin, Cathy Greene, Aylene Allen and her husband Brent all of Rutherfordton.

Two Sisters: 
Geneva Wilson of  Valdese and Rita Roberson of Burton Michigan.

Three Brothers: Ernest Reid, Larry Reid both of  Lenoir, 
Ronald Reid of  Morganton, 

Three Grandsons:Bryson, Brock and Braden Reid.
Seven step-grandchildren Brianna Puckett, Seth Wray, Dylan and Cody Greene, Carolina, Carley and Chloe Allen.  Two step-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday prior to the service at the church.  The  Funeral service will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 7, 2021 with Reverend Scott Moneyham and Reverend James Henson officiating.  Memorials may be made to Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home; 1881 Big Island Road; Rutherfordton, NC 28139.   Interment will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.  McMahan's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
