John A. Weeks, age 71, of Rutherfordton, died Monday, August 15, 2016, at Colonial Manor Health Care in Rutherfordton. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Adam Alexander Weeks and the late Laura Jane Goforth Weeks. He was a member of Brittain Presbyterian Church. He loved to deer hunt, coon hunt and go fishing. John was also a loving father and grandfather. he was preceded in death by his wife Freda Weeks and one sister Gail Hurt. John is survived by: One Son: Johnathan Andrew Weeks of Rutherfordton One Daughter: Tracey Calvert of Wyoming Two Brothers: Spencer Weeks of Rutherfordton Ken Weeks of Valdese, NC Five Grandchildren: Blake Calvert, Kassie Calvert, Landon Cleveland, Cole Cleveland and Alex Kriele One Great Grandson: Luke Calvert The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Brittain Presbyterian Church. The memorial service will be at Brittain Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 18, 2016 with Reverend Ted Grant and Reverend Danny Camp officiating. The committal service will follow in the Brittain Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County at P.O.
