Kaye (Ruff) Gold

Frances Kaye Ruff Gold, 89 of Rutherfordton, NC passed from this life into eternal rest on September 1, 2023 at Hilltop Health and Rehabilitation, Rutherfordton.  Kaye was born along with her beloved twin sister, Faye on July 25, 1934 to James Ellis Ruff and Dulcie (Dot) Cunningham Ruff in Rutherfordton NC.  Loving, kind-hearted, benevolent and forgiving, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend whose testimony is best summed up with the words of Paul to the Colossians, “Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” 

She was a life-long member of Second Baptist Church where she was a faithful attender, supporter and Sunday school teacher to the primary grades for over 30 years.  In the early years of her adult life she met and married William Daniel (Bill) Gold and together they built their home in Rutherfordton.  She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents Ellis and Dot Ruff, a brother Bill Ruff and a sister, Bobbie Murray.

Survivors include sons, William Scott Gold and his wife Susan of Durham, NC; M. Barry Gold and his husband, Greg of Tryon, NC, and two grandchildren; Caitlin Casciello and her husband Dr. Michael Casciello of New Bern, NC and Jake Gold of Charlotte, NC.  Also surviving are her siblings, Faye Ruff Bridges and her husband Robert of Kernersville, NC and Linda Ruff Dowell  and her husband, Skip of Rutherfordton, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a private interment on September 7, 2023 and a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Tuesday the 19th of, September at McMahan’s Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Keith Stephenson of Second Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 191 Green Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
