Larry Searcy

Larry Searcy, age 75, of the Bill's Creek Community, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022. 
He was the son of the late Clyo and Rachel Searcy, and he was a native of Rutherford County. Larry was a founding member of Bill's Creek Fire Department, and he was a deacon, trustee, and the groundskeeper for Bill's Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son-in-law, George Dickert, one brother, Raymond Searcy, one great-grandson, Matthew Blaine Searcy, and one brother-in-law, James Pritchard. 

Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frankie Flynn Searcy, two sons, Dwayne Searcy, and wife Lynne, Chesley Searcy and wife Trish, one daughter, Jackie Dickert Laughridge, and husband Joe,  two sisters, Jane Pritchard, and Vickie Schappert and husband Bill, one sister-in-law, Jenny Searcy, one brother, Troy Searcy, and wife Kay, eight grandchildren, Caleb Searcy, Camille Spillman, Seth Searcy, Michelle Pacetti, Kevin Searcy, Samantha Jennings, George Dickert, Lauren Dickert, one step grandchild, Zach Laughridge, and fifteen great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Bill's Creek Baptist Church, Lake Lure, NC. The funeral service will be at Bill's Creek Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2022, with Reverend Darold Crawford, and Pastor Toby Flynn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bill's Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1221 Bills Creek Rd, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
