Lois Morgan Moore was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on June 9, 2021 at age 87. Even though a failing heart took her away from this world, her loving heart left a beacon of light for all.
Lois was born August 27, 1933 to Lee and Molly Morgan. She had an adventurous spirit. She left home after high school to live in Charlotte and to work for Bellsouth, where she was employed for over thirty-five years. She married George Moore in 1954, and spent many years traveling with him and her two daughters as a military family. She was an active member of Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church, and served as their children’s church leader, and Women’s Ministry secretary over the years. Her caring and generous nature was revealed through her unwavering service to others.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Molly Morgan; her husband, George Moore; her daughter, RuAnn Moore; a brother, Hobert Morgan; and a sister, Dixie Morgan.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Teri Crain and her husband, Mark; grandchildren, April, Ken, Sarah, Jeff, Grayson, Christopher, and Michelle; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kodi, Molly, Ty, Cora, and Cohen, as well as a number of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Please join us in celebrating her life this Sunday, June 13, at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Jamie Pascarella and former pastor, Jack Crain officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. Flowers or donations to the Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church Missionettes and Royal Rangers are appreciated. The family will also be receiving visitors at the home of Lois Moore. The arrangements are being handled by McMahan’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
