Louise Searcy Lane

Louise Searcy Lane, age 91, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Monday, December 30, 2019, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills. 

She was the daughter of the late Briscoe Searcy and the late Emma Arrowood Searcy and she was the widow of Hoyle Lane. Louise was a native of Rutherford County and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was well known as "the cake lady". In addition to her parents Louise was preceded in death by her sisters; Agnes Brooks and Nora Mae Laughter, and her brothers; Hubert Searcy, Herman Searcy, Harold Searcy, and Hicks Searcy. 

She is survived by:

Sister-in-laws:
Glenda Searcy and Ruth Searcy

One Grandchild
Chad Haynes and his girlfriend Yvette

One Great-Grandchild
Andrei Haynes 

Louise was also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Pleasant  Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2020 with Reverend Randy Darley and Reverend Brent Frady officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills: P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Bus Fund: 131 Pleasant Grove Rd. Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
