Lucille "Mama" Simpson, age 94, of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Hospice House of Rutherford County. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Fincannon and the late Myrtle Stallings Fincannon. Lucille "Gran" Simpson spent her life in Rutherford County where she raised three boys with her husband, Hugh. She worked by his side in their family business, Simpson Auction Company. Her family was the light of her life and she loved having her house full of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always had a jigsaw puzzle to work on, enjoyed watching the deer in her yard and visiting with friends. Her smile could light up a room and she made everyone she came in contact with feel loved and special. Mrs. Simpson was a member of Round Hill Baptist Church. Lucille was the widow to the late William Hugh Simpson and was also preceded in death by one son Mike Simpson, one brother Andrew Fincannon and one sister Vergie Bridges. She is survived by: Two Sons: Joe Simpson and wife Reba of Rutherfordton Bill Simpson of Columbia, SC. One Sister: Esther Mae Willis of Spartanburg, SC Four Grandchildren Five Great-Grandchildren The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 with Rev.Billy Honeycutt, Rev. John Bridges and Rev. Terry Honeycutt officiating. Interment will be at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Union Mills. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County at P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
