Luke Garrett Alexander, age 22, was called home Saturday, February 25, 2023, after being in a car accident.
He was the son of Steven and Wendy Alexander and a native of North Carolina.
Luke was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Steve Alexander, and by his maternal grandparents, Emma, and Lloyd Derreberry.
Let me tell y’all about my brother Luke. He was stubborn, hardheaded, and really didn’t have a lick of common sense. He was really really book smart though. You could give him any math problem and he would give you the answer to it almost instantly. He would talk about space and all kinds of things like that and absolutely entangle you in his words and blow your mind. Then he’d turn around and believe that we’d pay him $500 dollars to lick a cow turd lol. He had a big heart; he'd give the shirt off his back if he had too. I loved him. It was always Luke, Noah, and me, and we did everything together, especially when we were kids. Tori (my cousin) was usually there with us, all three of us gave her a hard time. When Jesse and Silas were born Luke finally had some little brothers to pick on. One time Luke got a Batman suit for his birthday and Jesse and him would argue over who got to wear it until one day Luke decided he wanted to “fly” off the top bunk, and it got broken. We did all kinds of stupid stuff together around the neighborhood when we were teenagers Luke, Noah, and me. Most of my mistakes were right along with Noah and Luke. We played football together. We used to play church and Luke was usually the song leader. Noah and Luke would fight over which one got to be the song leader. I was always the preacher. I used to write football plays and I always made Luke the running back because he had bad hips and couldn’t get down deep enough in the yard fast enough like Noah. I tried to act like their football coach and eventually Luke and Noah would get mad and quit playing with me lol. Out of all the memories I have with my little brother I’m so glad that the last time I saw him was at church where the presence of the Lord was moving. Why the Lord said it was his time I don’t know but we’ll understand it by and by. Love you little brother some glad morning when this life is over I’ll see you again and hopefully that is soon and VERY soon.
In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his four brothers, Elijah Alexander (Alissa), Noah Alexander, Jesse Alexander, and Silas Alexander, his Nana, Ruth Alexander and his fiancé, Selena Uriostegui, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, and cousins.
