Mary Sue Buff

Mary Sue Buff, age 89, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills. Mary was born September 6, 1931, to parents Henry Crawford "Pete" Bailey and Mary Elizabeth Jones Bailey of Rutherford County. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, her husband Tommy Edward Buff of Rutherfordton, infant son, Dennis Keith Wellborn, brothers, Robert Bailey, and Harold Bailey, both of Ellenboro, and Carl Bailey, of Spindale, one grandson, Scott Melton, of Spindale, and one great-grandson, Joseph Wellborn, of Inman, SC. 

Left to cherish her memory, two daughters, Gloria Melton, and husband Marshall, of Rutherfordton, Judy Epley, of Spindale, three sons, Robert Wellborn, and wife Linda, of Rutherfordton, Gary Wellborn, of Forest City, and Mike Wellborn, and wife LuAnne, of Rutherfordton, one sister, Ruth Padgett, of Ellenboro,  ten grandchildren twenty five great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 3, 2021 with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Interment will be at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
