Ernest Hudgins, age 86, of Rutherfordton died on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Oak Grove Health Care Center. A native of Rutherford County he was the son of the late Zeb and Lula Gibbs Hudgins. Ernest retired from Broyhill Industries and was an avid farmer. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was the widow of Dolly Hudgins and was preceded in death by a daughter Debra Womack, son Billy Hudgins and a sister Lucy Hodge. He is survived by: Three Daughters: Carolyn Adams, Seattle, WA Julie Childress, Clinton, TN Margaret Hudgins, Rutherfordton One Son: Tommy Hudgins, Bostic, Five Grandchildren Brittany, Tyler, Carla, Robert and Melanie Seven Great Grandchildren: Taytem, Maggie, Karley, Kinley, Adrienne, Mann and Cogan One Sister: Betty Wilson, Forest City, NC Three Brothers: Roger Hudgins, Hubert Hudgins and Wesley Hudgins all of Rutherfordton The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2013 at McMahan's Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Big Level Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County at 11:45 AM with Rev. William Swink and Rev. Roger Hudgins officiating.
