Obituary

Edith B. Hill Arrowood, age 85, of Greer, SC, formerly of Union Mills NC died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late Dillard and Lela Dimsdale Boone. Edith was of the Baptist faith and was retired from the N.C. Forestry Service as a Fire Tower Attendant. She taught at ICC for 12 years in the arts and crafts class. Edith was a very talented artist and in many of the family and friends homes you can find her artwork and crafts. She was first married to the late Roy Leonard Hill and then married to the late Odee F. Arrowood. Edith was preceded in death by sisters Lillian Skipper, Vivian Byers and Nellie Raxter and brother L.D. Boone. She is survived by One Daughter and husband Cindy and Stanley Ricky McKinney of Forest City Two Sons: Hayden Hill and wife Becky Y. Hill of Greer, SC Leonard Hill and wife Judy Hill of Rutherfordton, NC Six Grandchildren Seven Great Grandchildren Two Great Great Grandchildren Six Sisters: Eartha Mae Huskey, Forest City, Agnes Allen, Cary, NC Juanita Walker, Gastonia, NC Shirley Allen, Gastonia, NC Inez Wess, Shelby, NC Carolyn Dedmon, Cliffside, Two Brothers: Johnny Boone Robert Boone both of Rutherfordton. A visitation will be held on Saturday February 4, 2012 from 2 to 3 PM at McMahans Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 3 PM with the Rev. Ray Hooper, Rev. Robert Boone and speaker Kristen Hill officiating. Burial will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City, NC. McMahans Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge.
