Nannie Reid Obituary
Nannie Dills Reid, age 89, of Forest City, passed this life on January 27, 2018 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center in Rutherfordton,NC.
Born July 26, 1928 in Swain County, she a daughter of the late Tollie Dills and the late Elizabeth Frady Dills. Nan enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables. She also loved her many farm animal pets. In her later years, reading was her favorite hobby. She was a member of Tanners Grove United Methodist Church. Her lifetime of hard work included working on the family farm, textiles, and being a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hicks Reid, brothers Henry Dills, Wade Dills, Vincent Dills, Fred Dills and younger siblings who died in childhood. She was also preceded in death by sisters Rosie Cabe, Thelma Price and Wilma Lowe.
She is survived by
Two Sisters:
Mary Pauline Justice of Fair Haven of Forest City
Flonnie Jolley of White Oak Rutherfordton.
Numerous nieces and nephews are also left to cherish her memory. A special "thank you" is extended to the staff of Oak Grove Healthcare who took wonderful care of Nan for almost ten years and were very attentive to her during the last weeks of her life. Also, Hospice of Rutherford County helped Nan's transition from this life to the next be comfortable.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Thursday Februaury 1, 2018 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oakland Rd, Forest City. Memorial donations may be made to Tanners Grove United Methodist Church at 151 Tanners Grove Rd. Forest City, NC 28043.
