Neal Bennick

Ittia "Neal"  Bennick, age 74 of Rutherfordton went Home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

A native of Rutherford County, Neal was the son of the late Kenneth Bennick and the late Vivian Crain Bennick. Neal was a faithful member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Rutherfordton.  After 31 years of being a truck driver, Neal retired to enjoy home life, farming and driving his tractor. He was a loving husband, Daddy, and Poppy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers,  Floyd Bennick, and Delmas Bennick.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Edith, three daughters, Ida Buchanan (Joseph), Deborah Bennick, Carrie Morgan (Mark), three sisters, Linda Merquin, Gail Flynn (Leonard), Vinita Hill, one brother, Ted Bennick (Diane), four grandchildren, Jordan Owens, Jade Owens, Luke Morgan, and Abby Morgan, and nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday, prior to the service at Pleasant Grove.  The funeral service will be at Pleasant  Grove Baptist  Church at 4:00 PM, Monday, October 2, 2023 with Reverend Randy Darly and Reverend Joe Greene officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Rutherfordton.  Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist  Church: 130 Pleasant Grove Road; Rutherfordton NC 28139.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
