Robert Y. Holtzclaw, age 69, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Hospice House of Rutherford County in Forest City, NC. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Charles Nathaniel Holtzclaw and the late Mattie Ray Crowe. He was a member of Floyd's Creek Baptist Church and loved his Floyd's Creek Softball Team. Robert loved hunting, fishing,gardening and NASCAR. He also loved to watch hummingbirds. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Robert was preceded in death by one sister Dot Gettys and one brother Max Holtzclaw He is survived by his wife: Shirley Harris Holtzclaw of Rutherfordton One Daughter: Angela Harrill and husband Jason of Rutherfordton. One Son: Shane Holtzclaw and wife Suzanne of Rutherfordton. Two Brothers: AC Holtzclaw and wife Farrie Jo of Rutherfordton. Clarence Holtzclaw and wife Dorris of Hickory, NC Two Grand Children: Brenn and Faith Harrill The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 5, 2015 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Floyd's Creek Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 6, 2015 with Rev. Robert Carnell and Rev. Stephen Matheny officiating. Interment will be at Floyd's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery where the Rutherford County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County at P.O.
