Robert Alexander Jones Jr., "Alex," age 63 passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV. Born January 26, 1952 in Rutherfordton, North Carolina he was the son of the late Robert A. Jones Sr. and Anne McFarland Jones. Alex grew up in Bennettsville, South Carolina and was a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy and Elon University. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Hamady Jones; daughters Elizabeth Jones, Katherine Jones Prentice and husband Jonathan, son Trey Jones, and his only granddaughter, "Gracie." He is also survived by his brothers Ed Jones and wife Ginny of Fayetteville, NC, Gib Jones and wife Kathy of Laurinburg, NC, and Pat Jones and wife Monica of Winterville, NC, his nieces and nephews, his large, extended family and many friends. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Don Scofield officiating. An interment service will be held at the Rutherfordton City Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. Sunday .
