Thelma Hicks Bailey, age 73, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Hospice House of Rutherford County. Thelma was the daughter of the late Gladys Mayse. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Polk County. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Thomas Hicks, Steve Hicks and Dink Hicks; one sister Elizabeth Goins. She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years; Alvin Bailey. Two Daughters: Dana Christine "Tina" Bailey of Rutherfordton, NC Rita Nannette Bailey Deal of Lenoir, NC One Sister: Linda Toney of Ellenboro, NC Two Grandchildren: Drake Austin Deal and Kristina "Kristie" Nicole Deal. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Friday, October 10, 2014 at McMahan's. The Funeral service will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Polk County at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2014 with Reverend Todd Lawter and Reverend Warren Elliott officiating.
