C. 28139 828-287-4715 Funeral Arrangements Change: For Thelma Blankenship Service Visitation will be held at McMahan's Funeral Home this afternoon, Wednesday from 5:00 PM to & 7:00 PM Thelma Greene Blankenship, age 76, of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Monroe Greene and the late Mayo Cowan Greene. Thelma was a member of Southern Baptist Church in Rutherfordton where she was active in the Mother's Prayer Group. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary for Voluntary Life Saving Rescue Squad and enjoyed her years spent working for Rutherford Hospital and Willow Ridge Nursing Home. Thelma was a loving Mother and Maw Maw to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Louie Blankenship and one sister Jean Brown. She is survived by: Two Sons: Lincoln Todd Blankenship and wife Melanie of Green Creek Robert Scott Blankenship and girlfriend Rachael Rumfelt of Rutherfordton. Three Sisters: Gladys Campbell and husband Jerry of Montford Cove. Jeroline Lane, Betty Lane and husband Howard both of Cane Creek. Two Brothers: Wilber Greene and wife Janett and Charles Greene both of Cane Creek. Two Grand Children: Kaylie Blankenship and Corey Blankenship The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Southern Baptist Church, in Rutherfordton, at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2015 with Rev. John Perry, Rev. Jerry Campbell and Rev.Craig Scruggs officiating.
